Co-Director of Pure & Faultless Ukraine
Jill Sayre lives in Austin, Texas with her husband, Michael, and four children. After volunteering with The Heart Gallery, a traveling exhibit featuring professional portraits of “hard to adopt” kids in the U.S. foster system, Jill was stunned when she saw a portrait of a child who looked exactly like her 6 year-old-son. All the foster kids gazed patiently, hopefully from the walls that night. But because of the family’s travels for work, the Sayres were ineligible to provide foster care. Then, in 2010 they heard Stephen Curtis Chapman tell his international adoption story. The UNICEF statistic of 153 million orphans worldwide further crushed the Sayres. The fact that there were kids in other countries yearning to join families that minute changed the Sayre Family’s future and number. Jill and her family have visited Ukraine repeatedly since 2010 on mission trips to orphanages and to adopt. Twelve-year-old Sophia, from Ukraine, joined the family in 2012. The Sayres attend Austin Stone Community Church in Austin.
