Come into God’s Presence
To the fatherless he is a father.
To the widow he is a champion friend.
To the lonely he makes them part of a family.
To the prisoners he leads into prosperity until they sing for joy.
This is our Holy God in his Holy Place!
But for the rebels there is heartache and despair.
Our God is so, so good. He loves us with an unshakeable, fervent love. It breaks His heart to see His children living in brokenness — physical, spiritual, or emotional. As one who is broken, yet saved and made whole by the death and resurrection of Jesus, I must come into His presence and allow Him to heal my broken heart. When Jesus died on the cross for my sins and for your sins, something miraculous happened. He restored our relationship to our Father God to the point that we can enter God’s presence at any time while feeling any which way, without fear, without shame, without wondering what He’s going to think about us. He continuously invites us to commune with Him, no matter what. Can you think of a person like that? Maybe your spouse or your best friend? Probably not. No human can ever be what God is…perfectly consistent in character, the very definition of love…all the time. A perfect Father, a perfect Friend, a perfect Savior.
What happens when we come into God’s presence and are open to receive His love? We become united with Him and start aligning our thoughts, our emotions and our actions with His ways, and we begin to be the beautiful person He created us to be. He desires us to be free from the weight of the world, the weight of sin and run the race which He has planned for us…not someone else’s race, but our unique race with our unique talents and giftings. He is our champion friend and biggest cheerleader! And as He pours His love out in our hearts, He exposes the old wounds and tenderly helps us work through pain and unforgiveness. He releases us from the prison of our past. And His plans for us are ALWAYS good. He leads us into prosperity and we sing for joy! As God heals our hearts, He pours His love out in our hearts…not to keep, but to extend to others.
But we have to choose to walk into His presence and receive His free gift of salvation. For those who reject Him as Lord and Savior of their lives, their wounds will never truly be healed, and there is much heartache and despair.
The women who have chosen to come under the care, provision and discipleship of Rahab’s Corner have made a life-altering choice. They have chosen to be free by the power of the one true living God, the giver of abundant life. They have made the choice to receive and give love, even when they have grown up in loveless circumstances. God reached down and spoke to their hearts and brought them, at just the right time, out of the dark and into His light. His presence is heaven. He has become their Father, their Friend, and calls them His beloved daughters. He leads them into prosperity until they sing for joy. May we all emulate these beautiful women and children. They have not allowed their past to determine their future, and God is faithfully present in their healing and has given them a new hope and blessed future!
We are in the season of Lent. Will you come into your Father’s presence, like the women and children at Rahab’s Corner, and let Him show you His love? It is as simple as praying:
Lord, I need your salvation in every way. I receive your free gift of eternal life, and I desire to come into Your presence to receive Your love and allow You to heal my brokenness. Show me my true self, the wonderful and beautiful person You created me to be. Thank you for Jesus, for by His death and resurrection, He conquered sin and death on my behalf. I can now walk in prosperity and joy because You are my Friend, my Father, and I am Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
